Emily Ratajkowski Lands First Beauty Gig

by Sydney Sadick

In her very first beauty campaign, Emily Ratajkowski goes topless for Kérastase, who’s named the model and social media star as the haircare brand’s latest ambassador. Ratajkowski was lensed by Inez &Vinoodh for the campaign, which shows off her natural beauty and gorgeous, glossy locks. It’s no surprise she got signed on for the gig, considering she’s fronted a slew of other campaigns as of late such as DKNY, The Kooples, and Frye.

“What helps me feel good about myself? My hair,” Ratajkowski said in a press statement.” I am excited and proud to be chosen as a Kérastase ambassador. Hair is essential to how I express myself. I love that feeling of clean, textured, natural hair, that instantly makes me feel more confident. I consider my hair as the reflection of my inner strength. It’s not an ornament but a way to express myself. I think that’s true for all women. There’s such an empowering femininity to hair. It allows women to define who they want to be.”

Ratajkowski broke down some of her thoughts on beauty and her new gig to Glamour:

On her vision of ideal beauty: “My vision of an ideal beauty is a woman who is completely her own self.”

On how hair makes her feel powerful: “Hair is super feminine and I find power in femininity.”

On how beauty makes women stronger: “Confidence in what makes you unique, and an appreciation and self-love will make you stronger in all that you do.”

On choosing to partner with Kérastase: “My hairstylist loves Kérastase and introduced me to the brand a long time ago. I’m addicted.”
