If your best work gay was MIA at their desk today, they might be recovering from last night’s Grindr and Visionaireworld black tie pajama party at Top of The Standard, which brought the sexy to New York’s gay pride celebration. The event was another fashion collab from Grindr (who signed with PR Consulting at the end of last year) and BFA’s cameras caught a slew of familiar faces including Alexander Wang, Zachary Quinto and beau Miles McMillan, Timo Weiland, Nico Tortorella, John Targon, Scott Studenberg, Hamish Bowles, Douglas Friedman, Ellen Von Unwerth, Billy Eichner, RJ King, Jonathan Simkhai, and host Eric Rutherford.
The hotel opened up the entire 17th floor, where guests walked through different themed rooms created by Jacolby Satterwhite, Stewart Uoo, Juliana Huxtable, Ian Isiah, and chef Jake Brodsky of Whip. A snippet from the press release out this morning is EVERYTHING: “Guests dressed in vintage Helmut Lang to perform gay cruising scenes, evocative of Central Park in the 1980s, were branded with temporary tramp stamps by Asian cowgirls, unwound in a heavenly padded chamber, recorded tracks with some of the leading gay rappers, and were served spiked protein shots by muscled arms jetting out of a mirrored wall in the hotel gym.” True story.
