Glam, bam, thank you, man! New York Fashion Week kicked off on an exceptionally strong note thanks to Tom Ford, who made his case to be the reigning roi of the season. Ford’s invitations included a bottle of fragrance titled “F*cking Fabulous,” as if you could ever forget, and his ultra-glam parade of draped gowns, little sequined somethings, and toppers of every possible persuasion proved his prowess. Those who recall the glory of his Gucci days may have experienced a sense of deja vu when taking in those sublimely-cut jackets. Just when you thought you’d never find another one that good…! Let’s hope that media salaries improve, though—as always, Ford’s confections are not for the weak of wallet.
