Livestream Dior’s Cruise Show Right Here at 2:00 PM EST

by Charles Manning

At 2:00 today, Dior will stage its 2019 cruise show at the historic Grandes Écuries of the Domaine de Chantilly, near Paris. The Great Stables were built by architect Jean Aubert in 1719 for Louis-Henri de Bourbon, the 7th prince of Condé. Louis-Henri believed he would be reincarnated as a horse and wanted a stable suitable for housing a horse of his rank. Because that’s not crazy.

The Great Stables

Today, these epic stables — the largest in Europe — are home to the Museum of the Horse, which is dedicated to the relationship between men and horses throughout history and offers equestrian shows throughout the year.

With all that in mind, I’m anticipating an equestrian theme at this year’s Dior cruise show, but let’s all cross our fingers that creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri throws in a few references to that lovable nut job Louis-Henri de Bourbon while she’s at it. That would be crazy chic.
