(NEW YORK) A tony auction house pulling in some editorial muscle? Indeed. Christie’s has hired Mr Porter EIC Jeremy Langmead as the chief content officer. Langmead, who will begin his post next year, will be tasked with creating content globally across multiple platforms for the auction house. He will also work with the marketing, communications, e-commerce, and digital platforms at Christie’s to develop content that will increase sales. Langmead will report to CEO Steven P. Murphy in London.

Prior to his post at Mr Porter where he has been EIC for over three years, Langmead was the editor of Esquire U.K. and has served as the EIC of Wallpaper. He’s also held roles at the London Evening Standard, Nova magazine, and The Sunday Times. At Mr Porter, Langmead was known for creating menswear-centric content that also ventured into lifestyle features on everything from a history of the Porsche 911 to art-collecting tips. Mr Porter’s parent company, Net-a-Porter, is said to be currently seeking his replacement.
