Rihanna Reigns At The Fashion Media Awards!
That Rihanna reign just won’t let up! The Fenty Beauty founder and fashion muse made a surprise appearance at our Fashion Media Awards in New York City, presenting Magazine of the Year to Katie Grand and Jahleel Weaver for The Perfect Magazine. The fashionable love-fest made for one of the night’s sweetest and most viral moments—and kicked off New York Fashion Week with a bang!
“You’re {Jahleel] someone I watched evolve into a scientist, a specialist, a student, and a teacher,” Rihanna said of working with Weaver and Grand. “I’ve been lucky enough to learn from you. If your creative process has actually led you into a space where a badass like Katie Grand says, ‘Come on, make a cover.’ She don’t trust nobody! But she trusted you with a vision where you were able to showcase a platform beyond anything we’ve ever done together.”
Alex Consani’s Meteoric Modeling Rise
One name on everyone’s lips this year? Alex Consani. In 2024, the it-girl soared from a TikTok phenomenon to top model, expanding her portfolio with viral campaigns for Jacquemus, Marc Jacobs, and Pucci—plus runway cameos at Victoria’s Secret, Luar, Diesel, Tory Burch, Stella McCartney, Etro, and more. Fashion aside, Consani’s authenticity and dynamic sense of humor made her one to watch year-round—but that’s not all! She also broke new ground as the first transgender model to win the Fashion Awards‘ Model of the Year and Models.com‘s Model of the Year, Women—Industry’s Vote and Social Mover of the Year—Industry’s Vote honors. Gigi Hadid Goes Back In Time With Miu Miu’s Arcadie & Wander Handbags
In April, Gigi Hadid embraced retro-chic style in Miu Miu’s handbag campaign for Spring 2024. Photographed by Steven Meisel, the supermodel rocked a a slick bob with vintage-style knits, dresses, and more, with added punch from bright oranges, creams, and dainty floral patterns. Spotlighting the brand’s Wander and Arcadie matelassé handbags, the campaign drew direct inspiration from the feminist British interwar photographer Yvonde.
Doja Cat & Brett Alan Nelson’s Fashion Los Angeles Awards Love Fest!
In April, The Daily Front Row‘s Fashion Los Angeles Awards drew stars to support their stylists, hairstylists, makeup artists, and more. One of the night’s top honors went to Brett Alan Nelson, presented with our Music Stylist of the Year honor by longtime client Doja Cat!
“Brett, thank you, and thank you to your beautiful mother for having you and giving me a friend that can help me translate my creative thoughts and teach me things about fashion and myself that I never thought I’d learn,” Doja Cat shared. Nelson also thanked his peers and mother—who accompanied him as his date!—while accepting his trophy. “I left home when I was 17 because I knew that I could do something so much bigger than I could have in Missouri, and I know that terrified my mom and I would not be standing here today without here. So, thank you, mom,” he said.
Edward Enninful Says Goodbye To British Vogue
In February, Edward Enninful bid a heartwarming farewell as editor-in-chief of British Vogue. In his final act as EIC, the industry darling’s March 2024 issue served as a love letter to his six year-plus tenure at the publication. To commemorate the end of his era, Enninful included 40 all-star covergirls who helped to shape his career. The women participated was beyond epic, including Oprah Winfrey, Cindy Crawford, Miley Cyrus, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Anya Taylor-Joy, Laverne Cox, Cynthia Erivo, Cara Delevingne, Iman, and Victoria Beckham. Jeremy Allen White’s Underwear Campaigns Heat Up Calvin Klein
Jeremy Allen White and his body commanded Calvin Klein throughout 2024 with sexy and buzzy campaigns. The brand kicked off the year with its viral Spring 2024 campaign, where White lounged against the NYC skyline in numerous pairs of Calvins for Mert Alas’ lens. Fall 2024’s shoot by Alas found the actor in sunny LA, taking a dip in the pool and playing with dogs while lounging in CK’s loungewear and briefs. Finally, as a holiday treat, Klein dropped its Winter 2024 campaign by Stuart Winecoff with the star enjoying cozy nights indoors—and pausing to make a sandwich. Yes, chef!
Victoria’s Secret’s Runway Show Returns With Tyra Banks & More VS Angels!
For its return to the runway, Victoria’s Secret pulled out all the stops for the revamped Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Held in Brooklyn, the star-studded event featured numerous VS Angels on the runway, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and more. The spectacle notably featured the return of Tyra Banks, who closed the finale alongside a confetti-sprinkled crew of Angels—including first-timers Alex Consani, Anok Yai, Devyn Garcia, and Rianne van Rompaey. The celeb-packed affair also included star performances by Cher, Lisa, and Tyla, marking the VS Fashion Show’s official comeback with a splash.
Chemena Kamali Brings Chloé Back To Its Boho Girl Roots
Throughout the great designer shuffle of 2024, Chemena Kamali’s debut collections at Chloé became one of the year’s strongest starts. The designer drummed up interest by dipping into the brand’s focus on multi-dimensional women, bohemian ties to nature, and house codes from delicate lace and leatherwork to blush-toned neutrals, bananas, and horses. After a successful start with her Fall 2024 collection in February, Kamali continued her winning streak with editor-beloved campaigns for Pre-Fall and Fall 2024 and Winter 2024, plus launches of Chloé’s revamped Bracelet bag and Party satchel. The label’s hype hit a soaring high for her second line for Spring 2025, which embraced a light-hearted flair and drew Paris Fashion Week’s first standing ovation of the season. Chappell Roan’s Camp Fashions Create A New Kind Of Style Star
This year, singer Chappell Roan emerged as a dynamic style star to watch. Working with stylist Genesis Webb, the “Pink Pony Club” songstress drew inspiration from horror movies, drag queens, and even the Statue of Liberty to create dramatic looks throughout 2024. Her viral assortment included a vintage Scott McClintock dress and horse hoof-inspired heels at Spotify’s Best New Artist party, a Wiederhoeft Fall 2024 gown for her debut on Saturday Night Live, and a wine-red Harper Collective dress at Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts Tour film premiere. Marc Jacobs Guest-Edits Vogue‘s December Issue With Fashion Doll Kaia Gerber
As the year drew to a close, Vogue‘s U.S. edition marked a historic first: a guest-edited issue by Marc Jacobs, the first designer and guest editor to do so in its history—and under the tenure of Anna Wintour. The December 2024 issue featured a colorful spread starring Kaia Gerber, outfitted in Jacobs’ beloved doll-like Fall 2024 collection, photographed by Steven Meisel. Elsewhere in the issue, the issue included a feature interview with Gerber on living in the spotlight, plus editorials themed around Jacobs’ love for dramatic nails, home design, and more.
