Vogue laid off eight people yesterday as part of their ongoing internal reorganization, according to Business of Fashion. Among those who lost their jobs are communications director Zara Rahim and Vogue.com senior market editor Kirby Marzec.
Layoffs at Condé Nast, Vogue‘s parent company, have become all-too-common in the last couple of years as the company attempts to make up for declining print advertising sales and an increasingly competitive digital media marketplace. Earlier this month, Condé Nast laid off top editors at two of their other marquee publications, GQ and Vanity Fair, with sources inside the company telling us that morale is at an all-time low as job security staffers becomes a thing of the past.
