Versus Versace and Zayn Malik are hooking up in 2017. Today, the brand announced the former One Direction singer will design a collection and become its new face. ZAYN X VERSUS will include men’s and women’s looks and lands in stores and online in May 2017, but editors and buyers will get a first look at the capsule at a presentation next spring. A percentage of the net proceeds from the collection will go to charity. “Zayn is one of the most exciting personalities in the world right now,” Donatella Versace said in a statement. “When we first met, he told me how much he loves fashion. I thought it would be fantastic to collaborate on a new Versus collection together. And given Zayn’s huge fan base around the world, I expect there will be a lot of excitement about what we create together.”
The partnership keeps thing in the “family,” as Zayn’s girlfriend Gigi Hadid is the current face of Versace. “The way he treats Gigi, like a gentleman: you don’t see this anymore…” Versace told Vogue. “I just saw them together. I went for dinner and I was impressed how mature he was.”
