Serge Ruffieux Has Left Carven (Harper’s Bazaar UK)
Serge Ruffieux is leaving his position as creative director at Carven. Earlier this month the label had been purchased by Chinese company Icicle for 4.2 million euros. The deal notably included all of the brand’s employees with the exception of Ruffiuex. “I have cherished these past 18 months at Carven,” he wrote on Instagram. “A big thank you to my team; the creatives, the studio and the ateliers. I wish the house all the best.”

Alek Wek and Jack Whitehall to Host the Fashion Awards
The British Fashion Council has announced the hosts of the 2018 Fashion Awards: model/activist Alek Wek and comedian Jack Whitehall. This will be Whitehall’s sixth time hosting and Wek’s first. The ceremony takes place December 10. You can find all of the nominees, here.

Guess Jeans U.S.A. Drops a Collaboration with Places+Faces
This past weekend at ComplexCon Guess Jeans U.S.A. debuted its new collaboration with the British multi-hyphenate brand Places+Faces. The collection, inspired by the climate of U.K., features a bevy of relaxed streetware and outerwear with reflective detailing that plays into flash photography. “We just wanted to make dope stuff and push the limits in experimenting with fabrics while staying true to the image of both brands.” said Places+Faces co-founder Imran Ciesay. “I want people to look back on this collab and know that we did some crazy shit in 2018.”

The Co-Founder of LVMH Has Passed Away (WWD)
The co-founder of LVMH, Alain Chevalier, has passed away at the age of 87. “LVMH salutes the memory of Alain Chevalier, the great industrialist who took part in 1987 in the merger of Moët-Hennessy and Louis Vuitton,” the company said in a statement. “He then presided over the LVMH group until 1989, thereby opening the way to the creation of what would become the world’s foremost luxury group: today, LVMH consists of 70 houses of unparalleled history and knowhow, and employs 150,000 people worldwide.”

Burberry Debuts A-List Cast for its Festive Campaign
Burberry has announced the stars of its annual festive campaign, and the lineup is rather impressive. Kristin Scott Thomas, Matt Smith, M.I.A, Naomi Campbell and her mother Valerie Morris-Campbell all appear in the images, shot by Juno Calypso. The campaign goes live November 13.

Peter Arnold Named Executive Director of YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund
Peter Arnold, former executive director of the CFDA and CEO of brands Cynthia Rowley and Cushnie et Ochs, has been named the new executive director of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund. “I’m honored to join the nation’s preeminent fashion educational nonprofit,” said Mr. Arnold. “I’ve long been attracted to FSF’s mission of supporting students studying not just design, but all aspects of fashion commerce, and I’m thrilled to bring my knowledge and experience to a team focused on funding and supporting emerging talent in the fashion space.”
