Minnie Driver Serenades The Chic Crowd For Escada’s Dinner With Saks Fifth Avenue

by Paige Reddinger

Who knew Minnie Driver was having a second act as a singer? Last night, the actress sang songs from her album Ask Me to Dance at Isola at the Mondrian SoHo for a chic crowd that turned out for the Escada and Saks Fifth Avenue dinner. Driver wore a strapless Escada gown featuring an abstract orchid print by pointillist artist Thilo Westermann. Escada collaborated with Westermann on a 10-piece capsule collection that will incorporate his artwork from his Vanitas series onto a selection of Escada’s ready-to-wear.

Saks Fifth Avenue president Marigay McKee, Escada chairman Megha Mittal, and Escada fashion director Daniel Wingate hosted the evening chez Isola. The luxe space was filled to the brim with socialites like Gillian Miniter, Lise Evans, Chris Mack, Annelise Peterson, Jennifer Creel, Olivia Chantecaille, Zani Gugelmann, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Vega Roya Villanova, Adelina Wong Ettelson, Nathalie Kaplan, well the list goes on and on darlings. Also on hand to celebrate the collaboration was tout le monde  from Harper’s Bazaar and Town & Country. (Each glossy had their own table). We also spotted chic duo Elisabeth Noel Jones-Hennessy and Kilian Hennessy at one table and street style star Natalie Joos at another. Plus, beauties Selita Ebanks and Coco Rocha also came out for the evening. Quite the crowd, non? “It’s such a fun night and the clothing is beautiful. I love Minnie Driver’s dress,” said Miniter. “The best part is that the event is being held in support of New Yorkers for Children and the work they do to help kids in foster care.” The 10-piece “Escada Meets Thilo Westermann” collection will be on display in six windows of Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City now through February 8th.
