Versace is bringing back the ’90s by delving in to its own history. Donatella Versace has recently taken to reviving the house’s most iconic styles, especially from her brother, Gianni’s, time. To help bring these classic clothes to life, the matriarch has brought back many supermodel icons from the past two decades. So who appears in the brand’s latest campaign for Spring 2019? Shalom Harlow!
- Shalom Harlow
- Bella Hadid (Versace)
- Irina Shayk
The model, who appears with Bella Hadid and Irina Shayk in the ads, memorably made a surprise appearance on the runway for this collection, so her casting was kind of a give-in. The campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, is reminiscent of Richard Avedon’s iconic campaigns for the brand from the ’90s. Pat McGrath provided the makeup, and Guido Palau did the hair, to give the whole project some extra glamour.
- Rianne Van Rompaey, Imaan Hammam, Adut Akech
- Kris Grikaite, Blesnya Minher, Vittoria Ceretti
The ads also featured newer faces, like Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Luc Defont, Salomon Diaz, Kris Grikaite, Imaan Hammam, Joao Knorr, Blesnya Minher, and Rianne Van Rompaey.
Versace has been having some great model moments for the past few seasons, while also remixing nostalgia to feel new again. Can we expect more surprises in the future? Maybe. Amber Valleta closed the house’s most recent show, so it’s entirely possible she will appear in the campaign for Pre-Fall 2019. More ’90s models, please!
