Is Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy Going To Chanel?
Could Chanel’s next creative director be Matthieu Blazy? It’s possible, according to Miss Tweed. The site shared today that Blazy is a frontrunner for the brand’s creative director position, which has been open since former creative director Virginie Viard abruptly left in June. What Blazy’s Chanel would look like—and if he’ll take the job—remains to be seen, as he’s currently creative director for Bottega Veneta. However, he isn’t the only one in the running. Rumor has it that Thom Browne, Jacquemus’ Simon Porte Jacquemus, and Alaïa’s Pieter Mulier are all candidates for the role. Plus, Marc Jacobs—who’s been a desirable Chanel candidate for months now—openly said he’s up for the job in his latest New York Times feature. We’ll see what mid-December (when the new creative director is rumored to be announced) has in store!
Editorial Layoffs Hit NYLON & Marie Claire
Editorial media’s difficult year has continued this week, with more layoffs hitting NYLON (part of wider layoffs at parent company Bustle Digital Group) and Marie Claire. NYLON‘s losses include senior social media strategist Kelly Christine Reed, while Marie Claire’s lost its morning editor Iris Goldsztajn. Sad day! Both companies’ cuts mark the latest round of media layoffs in 2024, which have impacted Footwear News, WWD, Highsnobiety, Fashionista, Time, The Los Angeles Times, and Sports Illustrated so far.

To commemorate their impressive hallmark, the pair have teamed up on a new editorial series together. Naturally, Klum is front and center, wearing signature graphic T-shirts by Rankin—which are available in the photographer’s Rankin SWAG shop. Cheers to 20 years—and many more!
