Christophe Lemaire is bringing his talents to Uniqlo as the artistic director of the new UNIQLO Paris R&D Center and soon-to-be-launched Uniqlo U line. He previously worked with Uniqlo’s Sarah-Linh Tran on a capsule collection, which launched in October 2015 and carried through to Spring/Summer 2016. Working with the brand then, he said he found its “commitment to product development, high quality, and teamwork truly impressive and inspirational.” Previously, he helmed the artistic teams at Lacoste and Hermes. “It is a challenge and a joy for me to be part of the team designing UNIQLO LifeWear—everyday clothing that resonates with people worldwide,” he added.
The first Uniqlo U collection will embrace the LifeWear philosophy of comfortable, versatile clothing, and was created with Lemaire’s Paris team. It’s slated to launch in Paris in early July, and worldwide for the Fall/Winter 2016 season.
