Alber Elbaz Reveals More About His New Fashion Line (New York Times)
On Friday, news broke that Alber Elbaz inked a deal for a brand new line. The designer then hopped on a call with Vanessa Friedman at the New York Times to dish about what we can expect. The new brand, AZfashion, will be a high-end, “project based” start-up. “We are not going to do pre-collections, collections, post-collections,” he explained. “It’s going to be about things I believe are relevant to make. We are just beginning now. And we are beginning really, really small. I like the idea of starting small today.”
As for the name, it refers to the “A” in Alber and the “Z” in Elbaz. “I didn’t want to call it Alber Elbaz, because it’s not about me, myself and I,” he said. “It’s going to be about we and us. And it’s going to go from A to Z.”

The sweater was sold this weekend for a whopping $334,000. The piece (which has stains and cigarette burns) has not been washed since Cobain last wore it.
