As the festive season swaddles us in all its glittering glory, it’s time to talk December must-haves. From standout style to sizzling spots, this week I’ve got my eye on wardrobe upgrades, culinary delights, and interior drama that promise to elevate your holiday game.
Max Mara’s Teddy Bear Icon
The coat of the season? Max Mara’s Teddy Bear Icon. Spotted on Lily Collins during a recent outing in London, this irresistibly tactile coat is equal parts cozy and chic, a wardrobe essential for braving the chill. The oversized silhouette is perfect for layering over your favorite winter knits. Pair it with a bright cashmere scarf for a pop of color or keep it monochromatic for understated elegance as Collins did as she braved the London cold to meet fans and sign autographs after her latest performance in Barcelona. Pairing hers with tobacco colored sweatpants, Jill Sander wool felt cap and matching Adidas sneakers, she showcases Teddy Bear Icon’s versatility and timeless appeal. Bonus: It’s versatile enough to take you from a daytime stroll to evening drinks without skipping a beat.
Sauer Arrives on Madison Avenue
The Upper East Side just got a little more dazzling with the arrival of SAUER, the storied Brazilian jewelry house that has chosen 800 Madison Avenue for its first global boutique. Known for transforming rare gemstones into wearable works of art, SAUER’s debut U.S. flagship is a celebration of design, culture, and craftsmanship.
Spread across two floors designed by São Paulo’s Estudio Tupi, the boutique is a seamless blend of Brazilian modernism and New York sophistication. Jacaranda-wood furniture and cantilevered tables meet Art Deco-inspired windows, creating an atmosphere as exquisite as the pieces on display. Upstairs, a private salon offers a glimpse into the brand’s legacy with an exhibition of rare gems and minerals from the SAUER family collection. To mark the occasion, SAUER has unveiled the exclusive Madison Avenue Collection, a high jewelry line that pays homage to the brand’s pillars of art, nature, and spirituality. Standouts include the Suzanne necklace featuring a 19-carat diamond and the Paisley earrings, a harmonious mix of emeralds, malachite, and diamonds.
Open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm, and closed on Sunday.

BARRIE’s Denim Capsule
This season, BARRIE has once again redefined the art of luxury knitwear with the launch of its Denim Capsule, a stunning collection that blends the craftsmanship of Scotland’s knitting heritage with cutting-edge innovation. Founded in 1903, BARRIE quickly became a luxury knitwear supplier, and after Chanel’s acquisition in 2012, it’s been pushing boundaries ever since. Under Augustin Dol-Maillot’s creative direction since 2018 (Augustin worked at Chanel with both Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard) BARRIE blends timeless heritage with fresh innovation.
The standout? Denim-style jackets knitted from luxurious cashmere and cotton, made by hand in Hawick. Each piece takes nine hours to craft, with custom-dyed colors ranging from raw indigo to stonewashed, using the finest cashmere threads from Todd & Duncan. The collection includes four jacket styles, plus an overshirt, pants, skirts, and shorts. For a personalized touch, each piece features a custom suede-effect tag with your initials.
Available now at BARRIE boutiques and online.
