Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2017 Campaign: Urs Fischer, Le Corbusier, and Eileen Grey’s Côte d’Azur Villa

by Kristen Heinzinger

Eileen Grey’s famous villa E-1027 in France’s Côte d’Azur is the perfect backdrop to celebrate the joie de vivre of Stella McCartney’s Summer 2017 collection. Harley Weir photographed mods from the designer’s runway lineup, Dilone, Alanna Arrington, Charlee Fraser, and McKenna Hellam, in front of murals by modernist icon Le Corbusier. McCartney designed the collection to celebrate inspiring women, the energy of the season, and the idea of “All Is Love,” words that are displayed across the frame in a graphic by artist Urs Fischer.

Beyond the print images is a three-part film, titled “Trust,” “Play,” and “Dance,” which captures the spirit of summer in its element—at the beach! Choreographed by Blanca Li, the films show models in tailored corsetry looks, eco-friendly suede pieces, and surf-inspired lycra swimsuits dancing and doing “trust falls” to the beats of “Nire – Hopscotch” featuring Nani Castle and Nini Rey. Check out the first film, below. Summer, are you here yet?!
