Sofia Achaval De Montaigu’s Paris Fashion Week Diary

by The Daily Front Row

The Daily‘s special Parisienne correspondent, Sofia Achaval De Montaigu, takes us through this season’s best ready-to-wear shows and chicest events, one day at a time.

Day 9: October 2, 2018

Chanel
The Paris Grand Palais turned into an actual beach, complete with waves and sand for Chanel’s models to walk on, their shoes in hand or hung from little hooks on their bags. The brand brought together an interesting and grand group of attendees for their front row, including Pamela Anderson, Vanessa Paradis, Pharrell Williams, and every Instagirl. The brand´s trademark tweed jackets were present, adding a new proposal in leather mixed with black bias tape. The ocean’s color blue was captured in lace items and denim and the color sand in beach dresses. As always at Chanel, black was the new black: it was the color for evening-wear choices, but without a doubt, the hit were biker leggings in a knee-length.

Miu Miu
Miu Miu’s fashion show at the Palais d´Léna had a big dosis of sparkle by the hand of the scenography designed by MM Paris. Micro shorts and midi skirts with reptile prints caught every eye, including those sitting front row like Kate Mara, Juliette Lewis, and Alexa Chung. Leather coats with double buttons and straight cuts were part of the modern proposal that mixed jazz and rock with Miuccia Prada´s romantic pink, which everyone will want to wear next summer.

Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton unveiled its collection at the Court Carrée, with an amazing view of the Louvre in the background. With a futuristic inspiration and abstract prints in a line of small handbags came voluminous-sleeved dresses, high-waist skinny jeans, and prints in floral motifs. Celebrities sitting front row like Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander, and Urassaya Sperbund, who greeted the designer once the show ended.
