Last night, DKMS hosted its 11th annual Big Love gala at Cipriani Wall Street to honor Claudia D’Arpizio, a partner at Bain and Company. Rita Ora attended the event and presented D’Arpizio her award. Other guests included Swizz Beatz, Andreja Pejić, Coco Rocha (a DKMS ambassador), India Gants, Alexandra Daddario, 13 Reasons Why‘s Tommy Dorfman, Derek Lam, and The Voice‘s Jordan Smith, who performed. “I heard about DKMS when a friend of mine organized a little party to get everyone involved, get everyone swabbed, and registered. So I registered. It is so easy to do and it can save someone’s life. How incredible is that? It’s like, swab your cheek. Do it! You know what I mean? It’s cutting-edge research and it’s the future,” Pejić told The Daily.
DKMS is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating blood cancers like leukemia and other blood-related illnesses and works to encourage both men and women around the world to register as bone marrow and blood stem cell donors.
PLUS! A few guests commented on what they’re loving these days. Apparently, Spring is trending.
Derek Lam: “I am not loving this weather. [But] I am loving that summer is around the corner.”
Tommy Dorfman: “I’m loving this weather right now. I missed a lot of the rain and I was so grateful. I just got back from LA and thought, Oh, it is spring! It’s so nice.”
India Gants: “I’m loving being in New York—I just moved here. I’m excited for it to be Spring and just meeting new people.”
