Kate Spade New York Fall/Winter 2016

by Paige Reddinger

Kate Spade New York is known for its colorful take on fashion and in this collection it was the fiery orange red that really popped. It looked especially covetable in a chic blouse with pleated tiered sleeves. Ditto for the maroon plaid outerwear, which really made a statement. A nude lace dress, a drop waist black shift with a nude pleated hem, and a black leather coat with white shearling lining will serve the brand’s clientele looking for something that doesn’t scream, but still stands out in a crowd. Plus, a good shearling is de rigueur for every woman’s closet these days (especially, New Yorkers). But even if shearling is too heavy (hello L.A.), there were a multitude of great outerwear pieces in this collection. And let’s not forget about the shoes: snakeskin print flats with a double strap? Pink velvet heels? Yes, please.
