One of the nicest boys in the biz is DJ Isaac Hindin-Miller who is expanding his world with a new venture. The man-about-town is taking his signature “I Like You” catchphrase to your closet with the introduction of a line of t-shirts, hoodies, and more. He tells The Daily how his like for you is turning into a mini empire!
How did “I Like You” become your catch phrase?
I started my blog Isaac Likes back in 2008 at the very beginning of the blogosphere boom and despite the fact that I wanted very much to be taken seriously as a fashion journalist, I figured that I’d end each article with “I LIKE YOU!” It was the era of the anonymous keyboard warrior and every time you’d click publish on a story the haters would come out of the woodwork and spew vitriol all over the comment section, so I figured this was one way to inject a bit of positivity into the online world. It didn’t really work, but I tried.

Why did you decide to give “I Like You” a 2018 revival?
Back in 2009 or 2010 I had the idea to make I LIKE YOU! stickers with my URL at the bottom so when I’d interview people on my travels I could hand them a sticker and say, “You can read the article here.” I started giving the stickers out backstage at shows in Milan and Paris Fashion Week that summer season and all of a sudden you had these models running around Europe sticking them to everything and everyone from subways to designers. It was great fun. Last year when Jenny Albright and I cut ties as a DJ duo (Isaac Likes Jenny), I suddenly needed to differentiate my branding, and I remembered the stickers. I put in an order and once again the response was so positive that t-shirts, socks, and key tags emblazoned with I LIKE YOU! soon followed, and now I’ve got embroidered hoodies launching. Underwear to come.
You’ve put the phrase on some of of your “influencer” friends. Who has been wearing it?
Olivia Perez, Yada Villaret, Xenia Adonts, Chrissy Rutherford, Sean O’Pry, Dougie Joseph, Moti Ankari, Christian Bendek, Joey Zauzig… I heard Georgia Fowler uses the key tag, and lots of people like Kat in NYC and Ralph Souffrant, Christina Caradona and Danielle Bernstein have the stickers on the back of their phones, its been great fun.
Why do you think people like this phrase so much?
Because it’s fun and flirty but most importantly it’s a little dash of positivity in this cold dark world.
How much are the t-shirts and where are they available?
The socks are $20, T-shirts are $35, key tags are free with any order, and the stickers will be given to anybody who crosses my path. Be warned. They can be ordered at DJIsaacLikes.com
Do you plan to expand into anything else?
Hoodies and I LIKE YOU! underwear and coffee mugs and iPhone cases and whatever else will look good with the logo.
What else are you up to these days?
DJing parties, trying to stay out of trouble, eating Chopt salad as often as possible and looking for love. The usual.
What songs are on heavy rotation in your world?
For Halloween I dressed up as a naughty nurse — playing Britney Spears while in drag is one of the most fun things I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
