Adidas Sued for Trademark Infringement (The Fashion Law)
Paul Ingrisano, who owns a trademark on “I<3,” has filed a lawsuit against Adidas for using “///<3 NYC” in a recent campaign. Ingrisano, who’s trademark extends over apparel and footwear, claims Adidas “knowingly disregarded” his rights, and that consumers could be confused about the source of the symbol. He also claims that the addition of “NYC” could also cause confusion, as he tends to combine his logo with city names. This is, of course, ridiculous, as Adidas’ “///<3” draws from its three-stripe logo, and it is unlikely that anyone would confuse it for something other than that, let alone something as commonly used as “I<3.”
EBay and What Goes Around Comes Around Announce a Series of Capsule Collections
EBay and the luxury vintage retailer What Goes Around Comes Around have launched the first capsule collection in their new partnership. The collection, titled “Peace, Luxe, and Rock and Roll,” features 1300 items for men and women. Building on the “rock and roll” theme, the lookbook stars Alexandra and Theodora Richards — the daughters of Patti Hanson and Keith Richards — and was shot by Sophie Elgort.
eBay and WGACA celebrated the launch last night with a party at the vintage retailer’s Soho boutique. Guests like Selah Marley, Jemima Kirke, Luka Sabbat, Mischa Barton, and Nadine Leopold got a chance to shop the collection, and enjoyed a DJ set by Zuri Marley. The collection is available online today through June 20.

Apparently, in addition to writing an essay for Vogue, she’s also tapping a “selection of female change-makers” to write essays of their own.
