Anna Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer, is engaged to Francesco Carrozzini (son of the late Franca Sozzani of Vogue Italia), according to the New York Post‘s Page Six. The prince and princess of fashion will soon be calling upon their designer contacts for their wedding. The million dollar question, of course, is who will dress Shaffer for the wedding (or who Anna Wintour will anoint worthy of fashion royalty). Shaffer,29, and Carrozzini, 34, have been quietly dating for some time, but made a public appearance together at the screening of Carrozzini’s documentary on his mother in October.
Sozzani passed away in December after a year-long illness. Wintour published a touching tribute to Sozzani on Vogue.com in the wake of her death. “After she became ill, I began visiting her at her home in Milan,” wrote Wintour. “Her mind and spirit were undiminished as we discussed every topic under the sun, from the fall of Matteo Renzi, to her amazing work with women in Ghana, to our children’s miraculous love affair. . . ” Sozzani had gifted Wintour a watch that the Vogue editor still kept and hoped would one day belong to her granddaughter. “I promised to pass it along one day, in celebration of our friendship, should Francesco be blessed with a daughter. How lucky that little girl will be to watch her father’s loving film about her truly remarkable grandmother.” Whether Carrozzini is blessed with a little girl or a little boy, his future children (should he and Shaffer have any) will now be blessed with not one, but two remarkable grandmothers.
