Day 2: January 16, 2020
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton’s collection was presented at the Jardin des Tuileries. When entering, one could see the place was covered in drawings of clouds and a big blue sky, with a tree in the center and objects — like enormous keys and scissors — to the side of the catwalk. Above it was an opening where the models came out.
High waisted pants combined with jackets and poplin white shirts foreshadowed the importance given to suits to this collection. Some of the suits featured textures like embroidery or ruffles, while others had cloud prints just like the set. Among the present celebrities was Bella Hadid, who stole attention dressed in a blue top and matching Louis Vuitton pants. Once the show was over, I chatted with my friend Carine Roitfeld and then got stuck on my way out, blocked by a group of bodyguards and photographers that waited for some of the celebrity exits. It felt more like a concert than a fashion show, something only Louis Vuitton can manage on Fashion Week.

Givenchy
Givenchy presented its new collection at “Le Grand Salon” during a sunny Parisian morning. The mirrored seats reflected the venue, which was decorated with dark bushes that gave off a wintery feeling. The collection paid homage to the 14th Maharajah of Indore’s luxurious L.A. lifestyle. The aristocrat travelled from India to Los Angeles during the 1930s, and this was the starting point for creative director Clare Waight Keller, who designed a line that showcased the modern man without losing elegance. Long jackets stood out in the collection, while tailored suits didn’t go unnoticed. Particularly a red one with high waisted pants. Big glasses covered the models’ faces that looked as if they had no makeup on, and others wore hats that made the looks more laid back. On the other hand, squared pointed shoes gave strength to the runway struts.

Rochas
To close Fashion Week day two I went to the Rochas show at Hotel Behague. An imposing marble hall with a piano in the center of the stage raised expectations among the attendees. The collection created by Federico Curradi stood out because of its smoothness and their laid back silhouettes, reflected on the models hair, very tidy and styled back. The different fabrics used enriched the designs, such as velvet in pale pink for suits and plaid wool for coats. Little golden pieces decorated items like jackets and pants and were seen in accessories such as necklaces and rings.
