Fashion royalty and actual royalty united last night at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the launch of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange. The event, which included a fashion exhibition and cocktail reception, was co-hosted by Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange was created by Commonwealth secretary-general Patricia Scotland and Eco-Age founder Livia Firth, and pairs design talent with artisan producers from across the Commonwealth’s 53 countries. The participating designers all created looks as part of the project and their designs debuted at Buckingham Palace on Monday.
Based on the floods of Instagram stories and posts from the event, the lucky lineup of guests couldn’t be more excited to be there.
Got invited to Buckingham Palace last night and was SUPER CHILL about it. (Swipe right for an obligatory bathroom selfie from the royal loo. There was carpet. Fancy.) Thoughts on @theroyalfamily? Kate Middleton has the shiniest hair I’ve ever seen and could easily be a hair care entrepreneur if the Duchess thing doesn’t work out, and Princess Beatrice is sweeter than berries and cream. 🇬🇧🇬🇧 @stellamccartney @jonathan.anderson @ecoage
