Chloé Spring 2016

by Ashley Baker

Seventies fever shows no signs of subsiding, but chez Chloé, there’s a fresh spin. Think…polyester tracksuits! Or at least a luxed-up version of the jacket, paired with a floral floor-grazing peasant skirt. (A few looks would have felt right at home in Dazed & Confused, which is required viewing for the fashion set in 2015, it seems.) Moving on: A key look was the ever-so-gently stonewashed denim, tailored into some frayed-hem palazzo pants and oversized tunics. Same goes for a crimson combo of a whipstitched, bow-festooned tunic and side-striped trackpants on Vanessa Moody. But it was Clare Waight Keller’s dressier fare that really aims to please. Lacy little frocks and color-blocked, diaphanous gowns (especially in Woodstock-esque tunic shapes) are likely going to sell out before they even hit the floor at Barneys.
