Chic Feasting with Jimmy Choo

by Sydney Sadick

Jimmy Choo brought on some holiday cheer last night at an utterly délicieux and intimate dinner with Saks Fifth Avenue and Vogue to celebrate the brand’s 2017 Cruise Collection. From the the three-course meal that featured an abundance of fall/winter flavors to the Thanksgiving-like table setting, L’Appart, the private dining room at Brookfield Place’s Le District, transformed into a cozy, chic feast. Emma MorrisonKate Foley, and Cleo Wade co-hosted the evening with Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi, which followed the designer’s personal appearance at Saks’ recently opened Brookfield Place digs.

“I was thinking about that giddy delight you see in children when they choose from a tray of sweets—I wanted there to be a sense of showmanship and an irresistible boldness throughout the Cruise season,” said Choi on designing her latest range. “Our collection allows you to express a new level of individuality through your shoes….Designing and creativity are my passions and I wanted to give our clients the chance to share this wonderful experience.” Translation: shoes and accessories in rich layers of color, embellishments, and decoration. As for what Choi’s eyeing shoe-wise these days? “I’m loving the boots…I’m wearing a lot of them at the moment,” she told The Daily. “I’ve always said that a pump is what you need to have, which is true, but I could wear boots all day long.”

Guests who were in on the intimate dinner included a slew of It girls, like Mia Moretti, Jessica Joffe, Chelsea Leyland, Lauren Remington Platt, Indre Rockefeller, Liza Voloshin, Emma Elwick-Bates, Kelly Connor, and Saks’ chief merchant Tracy Margolies. “It’s amazing, we have such a great partnership and I’m so proud to be here tonight to celebrate [Jimmy Choo’s] anniversary,” Margolies told us. “It’s so lovely that Sandra is here to come see our downtown store which is newly opened. Since it’s a perfect match, it’s a great way to celebrate and it’s just around the corner from the holidays.”
