A$AP Ferg and Uniform Launch Capsule Collection

by Kristen Heinzinger

Streetwear designer and rapper A$AP Ferg is teaming up with charity organization Uniform for a capsule collection. Traplord x Uniform, includes menswear and womenswear pieces that combine Ferg’s signature embroideries, oversized logos, and color combos in bombers, anoraks, cargo pants, cropped hoodies, snap off midi skirts, and more. Ferg approached Uniform founder Chid Liberty in late 2016 after he found out about their commitment to help educate kids in Africa; the duo took a trip to Liberia, where the entire line is produced, to meet the women who work in Uniform’s factories.

“A$AP Ferg is one of my favorite rappers so I was pretty blown away when he signed on to collaborate with Uniform this Spring,” said Liberty in a press statement. “Beyond being a ridiculously dope rapper and designer, Ferg is just a really good dude who has made this amazing commitment to education for some of the most disadvantaged children in the world. He’s a true global citizen.”

“Joining Chid & Uniform was a no brainer. Here you have my brand, Traplord, that’s all about pulling yourself up from the bottom and this amazing brand Uniform that’s on a mission to give these beautiful underprivileged kids an opportunity to pull themselves up through education,” said Ferg. “Imagine something as simple as a school uniform can impact an entire generation because these kids can’t get to school. Just imagine that. Coming from Harlem, I understand struggle and fighting to get something.”

Every piece in the collection is available for under $200. Select menswear items are available now at Bloomingdales, and the full men’s and women’s collection will become available later this summer at www.shopuniform.com and www.traplord.com
