Coach Is Going Fur Free
Coach has announced that it is going fur free, and will no longer use the textile in its collections as early as Fall 2019. “Coach has been committed to advancing sustainable practices for many years, with the introduction of our corporate responsibility goals in 2015,” said Joshua Schulman, President and CEO of Coach. “What really excites me most is building a business that balances true fashion authority while also driving positive change — both within the company and in the greater community.”

What’s a chic way to say “Welcome to the family”? A diamond bracelet! Prince Charles gifted Meghan Markle with a diamond tennis bracelet ahead of the royal wedding, and she has been wearing it to public events. Most recently it was seen on her wrist as she arrived in Fiji.

Gliberto Benetton Has Passed Away (WWD)
Gliberto Benetton, who co-founded the Benetton Fashion Group with his siblings in 1965, has passed away at the age of 77. He was credited with the “diversification of the family in retail, infrastructure and real estate over the past 25 years.” He is survived by his wife and two children.

Gerard Butler’s Celebrated His New Film With the Navy
Last night Lionsgate and The Cinema Society hosted the world premiere of Gerard Butler’s new film Hunter Killer on the Intrepid (also known as Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum). Guests got to visit the flight deck and tour a submarine. Both the US Navy and British Royal Navy were on hand for the premiere, as were celebrities like Coco Rocha, and Butler himself.

The Angel Ball Brings a Star-Studded Crowd for a Good Cause
Last night at Cipriani Wall Street, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research hosted the Angel Ball 2018, which raises money for blood cancer research. This year’s gala honored Dottie Herman, Douglas Elliman CEO; Monte Lipman, Founder and Chairman of Republic Records, Avery Lipman, Founder and President of Republic Records; and Harvey Spevak, Executive Chairman & Managing Partner, Equinox. Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown emceed the evening, which included performances by Ashlee Simpson-Ross and Evan Ross and Daryl “DMC” McDaniels. Guests (including Denise Rich and her daughters Daniella Rich Kilstock and Ilona Rich SchachteNina Agdal, Michael Strahan, Dennis Basso, Coco Rocha, Jill Zarin, Dorinda Medley, and Jack Brinkley-Cook) sipped on Casa Noble tequila. A live auction hosted by Simon de Pury featured a not-yet-released 2019 Porsche 911 Speesdster, a bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz, and the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium. The evening is in honor of the memory of Gabrielle Rich Aouad, and benefits early career scientists whose research focuses on finding less toxic treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other related blood cancers.
