Joseph Altuzarra To Headline SCADstyle, Featuring Steven Alan, Vanessa Friedman, Garance Dore, And More

A chic trek down south: Joseph Altuzarra will heading SCADstyle at the Savannah College of Art and Design on April 12th to 16th, alongside Neil Blumenthal of Warby Parker and Lauren Bush Lauren of FEED. The five-day event involves 25 global fashion notables heading down to Georgia for a slew of panels, lectures, and  tête-à-têtes. Altuzarra will sit down with Style.com’s Nicole Phelps for “Guide to Deconstructing the Power Suit,” while ELLE‘s Anne Slowey will chat with Lauren about “Cultivating a Stylish, Philanthropic Business,” and The New York Times’ Vanessa Friedman will discuss all things Tinseltown with Irene Neuwirth and Juan Carlos Obando. Blumenthal will talk about social impact and Warby Parker’s success.

Also on the docket? Steven Alan will give a talk about his retail model and tricks for succeeding in the long haul, Brett Heyman of Edie Parker discussing “Red Carpet Style: Marketing Design in a Culture of Celebrity,” and a panel on “How to Self-Promote Your Brand Through Visual Media,” featuring the likes of Garance Dore and Jennifer Fisher. Tibi’s Amy Smilovic and Valentina Kova will speak with Michael Fink of SCAD about brand-building, and for the jeans junkies in attendance, there will be a panel entitled “Genius Jeans: The Beautiful Business of Denim,” moderated by Florence Kane and Jean Herman Bishop of Jeans Stories (the latter is also style director at Travel + Leisure) and featuring Scott Morrison of 3×1, Jac Cameron of Ayr, and Kara Nicholas of Cone Denim.
