By now you’ve heard that Gigi Hadid photographed boyfriend Zayn Malik for Versus Versace’s new Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. Today, he images have finally dropped, marking the latest collaboration between one of Hollywood’s most parfait—and beautiful—couples. The duo first teamed up last year when Hadid appeared in the singer’s “Pillowtalk” music video. For this next collab, Hadid used iPhones and digital cameras to lens images of Zayn, giving each image an immediate intimacy and energy. Malik wasn’t the only model to get the Gigi treatment: Adwoa Aboah was also featured in the range, and both were photographed as they spent an evening hanging out in a suite at haute spot Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. “It was sick to work with Versus. Donatella [Versace] is a G,” Malik said in a statement. “It was extra special that Gigi shot the campaign. Looking forward to following up with my Versus collection that drops in June.”
The campaign featured select pieces from the brand’s SS17 collection, echoing a new direction for Versus, a “real wardrobe for a fresh generation,” according to a press release. Par example, Malik is shown wearing the iconic Versus leather jacket finished with silver lion’s head buttons and the new Versus faded denim jacket with the iconic safety pin fastener paired with matching faded, ripped jeans that lined with metal mesh. As for Aboah’s look, the mod wears similar pieces that reflect the mood of the brand, as well as metal mesh tanks and fine-knit tops with shredded panels lined with the same metal mesh.
Other hands on deck included Patti Wilson, who styled the campaign, and art director Erik Torstensson. Justine Marjan was on hair and Brigitte Reiss-Andersen was on makeup.
