The Daily wonders which erstwhile lines you’re still mourning the demise of. We asked you in the front row this week, you answered…
Virginia Smith: “Helmut Lang.”
Ed Filipowski: “Helmut Lang.”
Linda Wells: “Helmut Lang! It was like going to church.”
Jenna Lyons: “The really old-school ones, like Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo and Carmelo Pomodoro. I miss their spirit.”
Sophie Auster: “I just met Daryl K. When I met her I told her that I loved her stuff and I missed it, she was like, ‘Well, we’re working on coming back.’”
Vanessa Friedman: “I miss many, but that doesn’t mean they should be revived. I think it’s great for designers to do their own thing, and I wish that more investors would back that.”
Lily Aldridge: “Mayle. There used to be a store in Soho, but it’s not there anymore. It was my favorite ever!”
Eric Wilson: “Miguel Adrover.”
Anne Slowey: “Stephen Sprouse! Parachute! Christian Francis!”
Robin Givhan: “He’s not out of business but Isaac Mizrahi pops into my head. I miss his lovely and charming presentations.”
June Ambrose: “I’m going to miss Jean Paul Gaultier, who is only showing couture now. I’m a huge fan.”
Jessica Michault: “I adore Olivier Theyskens, and I’d like to see him come back to Paris, because he’s such a talent and that’s where he belongs.”
Sally Singer: “Marco Zanini, who just left Rochas, and Olivier Theyskens. That scale of talent really needs to be somewhere. I only wear fired designers. I got married in Isaac Mizrahi.”
