Industry favorite Michael Carl is moving up in the world. Graydon Carter has promoted Carl to be the fashion director at Vanity Fair. His previous title was fashion market director. Carl will work with and report to Jessica Diehl, VF’s creative director. He’ll cover fashion for Vanity Fair in print, online, and in video. He will also continue to contribute to the “Vanities” section—in print and online—which covers style, fashion, beauty, Hollywood, and the holiday gift guide. Carl has been part of the VF team since 2011 and was the former fashion director at Allure.
