Spring fever? That’s soooo last week. Let’s give Fall some love for a moment. UNIQLO’s design director and art director, Naoki Takizawa, gave a preview of their new Fall/Winter line, LifeWear, to editors and bloggers including Eric Wilson, Kate Lanphear, Bryanboy, and David Thielebeule yesterday at Industria Studios. Billed as a collection for the wearer who wants to adapt clothing to their life as opposed to adapting their life to clothes, the days of disposable throwaway clothing are fini. The collection is grouped into distinctive ‘Projects,’ styled by creative fashion director and busiest panda on the block, Nicola Formichetti. The names are heat tech, ultra light down, fleece, silk, cashmere, cotton flannel, ultra-stretch jeans (a special project featuring guest designer 10-Gruppen), and legging pants. Basically, all the essentials that you’ve come to know and love from UNIQLO are represented in a winning collection that you’ll want to (pardon us) wear for life. Peruse our Gallery for a look. We couldn’t resist including some shots of the extraordinary headpieces created by Katsuya Kamo for the preview.
