Former Barneys CEO Daniella Vale Heads to Tiffany & Co.

Tiffany & Co. has snapped up an interesting hire: Daniela Vitale, the former CEO of Barneys New York. WWD reports that beginning December 1, Vitale will be the jeweler’s chief brand officer, overseeing merchandising and marketing functions.

“Daniella is a seasoned business leader with deep experience in luxury, having worked with a variety of brands including Ferragamo, Armani, Gucci as well as in her most recent role as CEO of Barneys New York,” Alessandro Bogliolo, CEO of Tiffany, told employees in an internal memo. “In her time at Barneys, Daniella was an arbiter of what’s on trend, and was successful in balancing her intuition for product and impeccable taste level with a strong focus on consumer analytics to understand and predict consumer behavior.”

Barneys declared bankruptcy in August, and was sold to Authentic Brands Group in October. Vitale resigned as CEO after news of the sale was confirmed.
