Missoni Celebrates Its Pre-Fall 2017 Collection

by Sydney Sadick

Last night’s rain didn’t keep a chic set from joining Angela Missoni to celebrate Missoni’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection at the brand’s Upper East Side digs. The collection—which, per tradition, is a play on mixing and matching—looks back to the house’s ’70s glamour, redeveloping a slew of themes, symbols, and meanings for its 2017 Fall range. Patterns include checks, vertical stripes, greek frets, space dyes, and zigzags, and as far as silhouettes go, many pieces accentuate the body, like frock coats, slim dresses, and flared-hem trousers. On the evening-wear front, think lack stitching, fringed hems, and intricate techniques that create depth. Many guests were wearing the new collection at the shindig, including DJ May Kwok, blogger Samantha Angelo, and mod Dasha Denisenko. Others in attendance included Ottavio Missoni Jr., Saks Fifth Avenue’s Tracy Margolies, Callie Reiff (who DJed the eve)Manuela FreyChloe NorgaardIsaac Hindin-MillerJenny Albright, Paloma ElesserRoopal Patel, and others.
