Missoni and Pigalle Team Up on Menswear Capsule Collection

by Sydney Sadick

Missoni’s creative director Angela Missoni and Stephane Ashpool of buzzy Parisian menswear brand Pigalle are joining forces to launch a menswear capsule collection to be unveiled exclusively this month at Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in Ginza, and Pigalle stores. The two brands bring their values and affinity for diversity, family, and freedom via a basketball-inspired collection, merging Pigalle’s elevated sportswear with Missoni’s iconic knitwear.

Missoni revisited the past using archive fabrics that have been reworked into a triangular patchwork and used for a selection of Pigalle’s most iconic pieces created in two color ways: beige-yellow and blue-purple. In the range, you’ll find Pigalle’s raglan-sleeved varsity bomber jacket featuring front and back panels in Missoni’s quintessential patterns. A fur-stitch robe in pima cotton also features the fabric on hems and shoulders. Both pieces are lined in a technical nylon sport mesh, reminiscent of a basketball jersey. Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for a luxe fleece track pant and sweatshirt with patchwork side-panel inserts, as well as jersey t-shirts with appliqués of the Missoni and Pigalle logos that are laser cut from Missoni space-dye fabrics. Lastly, Pigalle’s deerstalker cap is also featured in the collection in suede and in Missoni’s exclusive loom-knit fabrics.
