L’Agence Graces New York With a New Madison Avenue Boutique

by Aria Darcella

The New York shopping scene just got a fresh edition from California — the ready-to-wear label L’Agence recently opened a boutique on Madison Avenue. Fans were already able to get their hands on the brand by shopping online, or through department stores (like Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, and Saks), but this new boutique gives shoppers the full L’Agence experience.

Designed by Paul Bennett Architects, the space is minimal, yet chic. The brand’s collection — including denim, dresses, knitwear, and more — are hung from chrome beams. The fitting rooms are closed by cream curtains, giving the space a clean aesthetic. Meanwhile hardwood floors and large tufted ottomans bring a sense of warmth and comfort.

“Opening on Madison Avenue is important for the brand presence as well as NYC being the next location in our retail footprint,” said CEO Jeffrey Rudes. “NY is the biggest market for us, so it makes sense for us to have a brick and mortar location that offers the full collection.”

This is L’Agence’s second store since the brand was founded 10 years ago (the first is on Melrose Place). Since its inception in 2008 L’Agence has grown from a ready-to-wear brand to include a denim line, and now produces 11 collections a year. It has even garnered itself some celebrity fans — including Megan Markle — and presented at New York Fashion Week last September.  Suffice to say, Manhattanites might have a new Upper East Side shopping destination.

L’Agence is open now at 1011 Madison Avenue, New York.
