Jil Sander Kicks Off MFW With Accessories to Obsess Over

Milan Fashion Week is officially under way, and Jil Sander made sure to start things on a high note. The brand, which is known for its minimalism and precision, debuted a collection for Spring 2019 that was filled with clean silhouettes, and modernist details.

But the real highlight of the show was the accessories. Chic and downright cool, the pieces will definitely show up on It girl Instagram feeds come spring (or sooner). There were platform sandals (already a trend from the New York shows), open-toed boots (likely to be a big deal next season after appearing on Burberry’s catwalk), and boxer boots with pointe shoe toes— an inventive standout. Thanks to a metal flourish around the ankle, the ballet booties also feel sleek and sort of arty. Its the best “tough ballerina” fashion mash up since pairing a leather jacket with a tutu.

Equally worthy of geeking out over were the bags. Such variety! There was everything from oversized totes to teeny drawstring pouches. What can you even fit in there? I mean, besides secrets. Anyway, the handbags were to die for. The box shapes could be worn over the shoulder vertically or held horizontally. Such versatility!

All in all, a great start to Milan Fashion Week. See the rest of the collection, below, and start working on your wishlist now!
