InStyle has tapped Nina Lawrence to be their new publisher. It was also announced today that Karin Tracy, the magazine’s former publisher, would be leaving the company. Lawrence was previously the vice president of global marketing and advertising sales for The Wall Street Journal. There she oversaw a staff of 100 and led marketing and business development efforts across multiple platforms including newspapers, websites, mobile devices, video and live events. Her resume also touts 15 years on the publishing side at Condé Nast where for the last seven years prior to The Wall Street Journal, she was the vice president and publisher of W.
At InStyle, Lawrence will be responsible for leading integrated sales and marketing efforts across all platforms and will develop new growth opportunities and revenue streams alongside the magazine’s editor-in-chief Ariel Foxman. “Nina’s track record will be invaluable as we work to deliver integrated solutions to advertisers and generate new business opportunities to leverage brand equity,” said Time Inc. executive vice president, Evelyn Webster in a statement. “I am confident in Nina’s ability to navigate the fast-changing media landscape and expand the InStyle franchise in partnership with Ariel.” Lawrence will report to Webster and will begin her new role next week.
