While the initial draw of the Hamptons might be picturesque beaches and pristine summer homes, the East End has undoubtedly become a go-to shopping destination. With world-class boutiques situated next to Mom-and-Pop retailers, you could easily spend an entire weekend perusing Main Street in East Hampton or Jobs Lane in Southampton and beyond. So, The Daily Summer went to town chatting with the chicest boutique’s gatekeepers, aka the sales girls and boys, to see what’s happening on the shopping front. Can you blame us for snagging a few summer must-haves in the process? Now that we’re deep into beach season, we figured we’d check out what Everything But Water has to offer, and we snagged a moment with Sabra Krock, the company’s creative director…
What’s your best selling swimsuit this season?
One pieces of all kinds are having a moment this season, whether it’s the classic tank style or a more edgy piece with cutouts.
How about your hautest cover-up?
Caftans are hot this summer! Think Elizabeth Taylor and luxe ’70s glam.
What’s the must-have beach accessory this season?
A great piece of beach jewelry. Current favorites include Kate Davis‘ bar necklaces stamped with ocean-oriented sayings like ‘Salty’ and ‘Mermaid’, and Nicole Schumann‘s one-of-a-kind vintage charm necklaces.
How many different brands are sold at the Hamptons Everything But Water shop?
Many. We carry high end brands like Kiini, Mara Hoffman, Clover Canyon, PilyQ and others.
Who are the latest labels that have been added into the mix at EBW? And the label you’re most excited about?
One of the most fun is Kiini, a line of handmade, crochet trimmed one-of-a-kind bikinis that we have exclusivity on in East Hampton.
Does EBW have its own in-house label?
We create special offerings from EBW from time to time. Currently we have a series of pareos on the site and we also work regularly with designers to carry exclusive colors of their best suits.
Where do you like to hang out in the Hamptons?
La Fondita on Montauk highway in Amagansett has the best Mexican food.
Where’s your favorite beach in the world?
Harbour Island in the Bahamas.
What’s your favorite way to wear a bathing suit, not to the beach or pool?
As a bodysuit under wide-leg pants. I’m currently loving Lisa Marie Fernandez‘s sleek neoprene zip up scuba-inspired suit like or our exclusive Marysia scalloped one piece to complete the look.
