GQ Expands Its Booze Business

Yes, you’ve read correctly! The men’s magazine is delving deeper into the food and drink market with the opening of GQ Bar in Berlin in Fall 2017. A location already exists in Dubai and there is a pop-up at the Rosewood London. The venture is a collaboration between Condé Nast International Restaurants and lifestyle/fashion brand Patrick Hellmann Collection, which is also the partner for Vogue Cafe Berlin. “GQ Bar Berlin will be a new space for the effortlessly cool crowd of Berlin to enjoy,” said Gary Robinson, director of Condé Nast International Relations, in a statement. “We’ll be mixing classic food and drink with modern re-interpretations, all delivered with style and panache. The bar will offer a unique experience to the established readers of the magazine in Germany and beyond, providing a portal to a world synonymous with refined taste and cultural awareness.”

The bar will be located in Berlin’s Patrick Hellmann Schlosshotel in Grunewald, a historic building featuring interiors designed by Karl Lagerfeld. On the menu? Cocktails like the signature GQ Bar Manhattan featuring Woodford Reserve bourbon, Belsazar white vermouth, orange soaked barrel aged bourbon, and vanilla. On the food front, the GQ Bar Burger with watercress and peppercorn umami is sure to be a palate pleaser. Yum!
