Entering the Elie Saab show at the Tuileries were what seemed like hundreds of actual clients. But if they filed into the building expecting to empty their deep pockets for the usual fare, they were in for a surprise. This was a decidedly younger show than we’ve come to expect from Saab. Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner walked the show, stars of the runways, Instagram, and the new Hollywood brat pack.
There were bomber jackets, short mini dresses, daywear such as blazers and shorts—even a casual pair of boxer shorts, although they were done in lace and silk. In fact, the overall vibe was much more laid back than Saab’s usual red carpet and gala attire that his well-heeled clients demand. “A wardrobe, a lifestyle, an attitude,” read the show notes. Those are a few words we think of immediately when we think of both Hadid and Jenner and the rest of their privileged crew. Perhaps, Saab is aiming his eye on a new sort of clientele, a generation younger, but with the same amount of cash to burn and parties to attend.
