Editor’s Pick: Versace Savage Barocco Prink Silk Blazer

by The Daily Front Row
Versace

What: A blazer with an iconic print that is perfect for Leo season.

Who: Gianni Versace launched his namesake brand in 1978. Following his murder in 1997, Gianni’s sister Donatella took over as creative director of the house, a role she has maintained ever since. Versace’s popularity has soared following its stellar Spring 2018 show, which resurrected some of Gianni’s most iconic looks and reunited many of his favorite ’90s supermodels for a golden (cat)walk down memory lane.

Why: This gorgeous blazer was spotted on Versace’s Pre-Fall 2019 runway back in February. But this pattern actually has a long history with the house. As far back as the Spring 1992 collection the house has been producing Baroque silk prints. It also features buttons with Medusa heads on them — another emblem of the brand’s visual legacy!

This blazer is perfect for Leo season, which started July 23rd. Leos are the zodiac sign ruled by the sun. This lends to some of their most prominent characteristics: they love the spotlight, looking good, and have a fun dash of dramatic flair. What better way to get into the spirt of the season then with lavishly-patterned gold fashion?
