Cosabella’s Plus-SIze Collaboration With Eloquii Is HAUTE!

Italian luxury lingerie brand Cosabella is looking to shake up the plus-size lingerie market through a new collaboration with American plus-size fashion brand Eloquii. Available starting today at eloquii.com, Cosabella.com, and select Eloquii stores, the 16-piece, limited-edition collection of lingerie and sleepwear ranges in price from $40 to $150 and is available in sizes XL to 5X. The Daily caught up with Eloquii’s Jodi Arnold and Cosabella’s Silvia Campello, to find out more about the collaboration and how the two brands worked together.

How did this collaboration come about? What was the process like? How long did it take?
Arnold: The creation of this collaboration is a combination of celebrating our customer and addressing feedback received on both ends — our customer wanted more intimates options and Cosabella’s customer desired expanded sizing. We’ve always admired Cosabella’s hand-crafted lingerie and worked closely with them over the last few months to perfect a luxurious collection that caters to women up to a size 5X, marrying our fit expertise with their exquisite Italian artisanship.

How did the process (design, manufacturing, etc.) of creating this collection differ from other collaborations or collections you have created in the past?
Campello: The timing of this collaboration makes it unique. Four years ago we began our efforts to expand our best-selling items across an extended size assortment up to 3X. During that time we encountered hurdles with retail partners and other technical challenges. ELOQUII is a partnership where we have overcome these hurdles and challenges.

Our past collaborative partners have relied on Cosabella for technical design, fit and production. What makes ELOQUII different is that we combined their fit expertise and runway inspired, customer-focused design direction with our classic Italian craftsmanship.

What did you learn from working together?
Arnold: Cosabella’s lingerie is luxuriously delicate and detail oriented- it is truly a form of art. Throughout the process, we found that this collaboration was a mutual learning experience and I enjoyed working hand-in-hand to create a collection representative of both of our brands’ design philosophies-crafting quality and sophisticated styles that fit beautifully.

Campello: We learned that color and fabric variety in XL to 5X is a horizon yet to be reached. There is a great demand to follow runway and street trends at the moment and this applies greatly to color accents in layering with lingerie. Fit consistency up to 5X was also a strong learning curve to achieve and ELOQUII’s fit technique guided us.

What are your favorite piece from the collection?
Arnold: It’s always hard to choose, however the Sweet Dreams Bodysuit is definitely a favorite — particularly paired with the coordinating Sweet Dreams Robe. The blush hue compliments any skin tone and the sheer paneling is a great, yet subtle detail.

Campello: The Ferrara Jumpsuit has an impeccable fit from XL to 5X. It embodies our feminine, timeless loungewear effortlessly. Sugar, our Valentine’s focused collection, is an intricately designed lace in a rich burgundy exhibiting true luxury Italian craftsmanship. It’s also our number-one selling style in Cosabella’s main collection this Spring. We’re excited to now offer it through to 5X.
