Cool Brides, Assemble—LAPOINTE Has Launched Its Inaugural Bridal Offering

by Freya Drohan

It’s no secret that the wedding industry has been exploding post-pandemic, as brides make sure they seize the opportunity to pull out all the stops when it comes to their big day out in white; whether it was postponed or not. And indeed, for the type of alt bride who would rather get married over Zoom than say ‘I Do’ in anything that’s textbook traditional or even remotely resembling a meringue, Sally LaPointe has the perfect ‘something new’ for her.

Kicking off Bridal Week in NYC, the designer presented her inaugural Bridal Collection, for Spring ’23, today. True to form, the offering—in cream, not white!—marches to the beat of its own drum. Think: crop tops, feather trims, sheer panels, faux leather blazers and longline jackets, and a high-cut bodysuit that would give the bikini Pamela Anderson wore for her 2006 nuptials a run for its money, as well as a new offering of the iridescent sequin separates that the brand has become a go-to for.

“LAPOINTE has always been known for making a statement and being unapologetic, so it was a natural evolution to bring that message into bridal”, LaPointe said of the venture.“Our bride is seeking alternatives to the traditional and expected world of bridal—she does bridal in her own way.”

LaPointe also stepped behind the camera, photographing the signature edgy-meets-glam lookbook herself, with styles modeled to perfection by one of the brand’s familiar faces, Natalia Sirotina. The collection is available for pre-order exclusively at shopLAPOINTE.com: we look forward to seeing how the inimitably cool brides of tomorrow style this one.
