Did you miss out on Friday’s dosage of media, PR, and fashion moves? (Allure’s new editors! Bon Appétits digital expert! Teen Vogue promotions!) Don’t fret, darlings. Here’s a recap, plus an exclusive moment with one of the week’s major movers: Former Details fashion market editor, Justin Berkowitz, who has just landed at Bloomingdale’s as fashion director, men’s. Take it away, Justin!

You were a mag guy…What spurred the career change?
In my case, it was not a choice but a moment of opportunity. When Details (RIP) closed, I realized it might be time to think about doing something outside of the publishing sphere. I’ve always been interested in the retail side of the business—at the end of the day, I love discovering new product. So when the Bloomingdale’s opportunity came up, I knew it would be a great chance to try something new.

Tell us about your first day on the job!
Simply put, I’ve hit the ground running. The inimitable Kevin Harter, my new boss, was heading to London for shows before I started, so my first day was spent out in the market with the buying team on appointments for fall collections.

What’s one of the first projects on your schedule?
Milan and Paris shows. I haven’t been to Milan in a work capacity before and I’m excited to see some of the Italian masters of tailoring up on their home turf.

How will fashion week be different for you now?
It’s about recalibrating slightly to focus on the Bloomingdale’s customer. I still need to think about newness and fresh ideas in the market just like an editor does, but that also has to translate into sellable product that excites our guy.

Any exciting news coming up?
I’m incredibly excited about our PHM Saint Peres pop-up shops launching this spring. Pierre Henri has such a great eye and playful taste.

Your earliest Bloomie’s memory, please!
My first experience with Bloomingdale’s was when I moved to New York for college. I was in school here when the Soho store opened and I was obsessed with the diversity of product—everything from my favorite Levi’s to Junya Watanabe.

Favorite men’s trend du moment?
I’m loving the return of a little volume to men’s clothing. I came of age in the skinny suit years and while I think they are absolutely fantastic on the right guy, I’ve always found it a little difficult to relate to them personally.

Which guy won best-dressed at The Globes?
Ryan Gosling
in Ralph Lauren. The man is just perfect.
