Hailey Bieber attempted to file a trademark for “Bieber Beauty” back in April. But, according to The Blast, Mrs. Bieber’s trademark was rejected. Why, you ask! For one very simple reason: her husband, Justin Bieber, already owns that trademark. The Biebs apparently filed his own trademark for “Bieber Beauty” sixteen years ago, encompassing everything from soap to cosmetics.

To be fair, Justin’s trademark was filed in 2003 when he was only nine years old. It is very likely that someone from his management team filed the trademark on his behalf and he simply forgot about it, if he ever even knew about it to begin with. The good news is that if she wants, Mrs. Bieber can now simply launch a beauty brand with her husband. A joint line would actually be pretty cute and would set them apart from the myriad other celebrity cosmetics lines that have launched in the last few years. Alternatively, Hailey could always go back to using her maiden name — Baldwin Beauty certainly has a nice ring to it.
