(NEW YORK) Cipriani’s 42nd Street location, ever the generous host for countless black tie dinners, continued tradition by holding the 17th Annual Accessories Council ACE Awards. The evening honored a slew of designers, editors, and genuine accessory junkies, celebrating their contributions to the industry. Each honoree is nominated and selected by their peers, members of the press, retailers and the Accessories Council Board of Directors. The likes of Hamish Bowles, Kate Young, Iman, Rag & Bone, Warby Parker, and Nordstrom, among others, took home a sparkly awards from the dressy bash.
As for Rebecca Minkoff’s fave accessory? “That is like asking about a favorite child,” the designer exclaimed. “But tonight, I would have to say my clutch.” For Eva Chen, accessorizing her Peter Pilotto dress meant Cartier bracelets and Prada shoes. As for the kicks, “they’re my default going-out shoes.” J’adore! While some might say that Joan Collins stole the show, she insisted: “It’s all about Alexis [Bittar] tonight!” After all, the designer was honored as ACE’s Brand of the Year. When it comes to picking a most beloved accouterment, Collins’ answer is quite simple: her wedding ring.
The likes of Phillip Lim, Olivia Palermo, Hal Rubenstein, Jason Wu, Rebecca Minkoff, Tommy Hilfiger, Naeem Khan and Eric Daman sipped champagne and fruity cocktails before taking a seat for dinner. For those that desired entertainment beyond their seatmates, Guordan Banks offered up a live performance, which was a nice accessory to the award ceremony. And the luxe menu was just the icing on the well-accessorized cake. Suffice it to say, the Accessories Council ACE’d it this year!
