Andrea Lieberman‘s A.L.C. has partnered with InterLuxe. This will be InterLuxe’s second designer partnership since the company was founded last September. The company’s first partnership was with Jason Wu. InterLuxe was founded by industry veterans like Gary Wassner, CEO of the Hilldun Corporation; Melissa Beste, former CEO of Akris Americas; Eddie Volchko, former CFO of Derek Lam; and Cliff Moskowitz, who comes to Interluxe with a background in private equity, having previously served as vice president of the Harvest Partners.
InterLuxe was the brainchild of Wassner, who decided to found the investment firm after years of financing designers through Hilldun Coproration and watching other foreign investors come into the industry. “We wanted to form a company that would invest with a different perspective than in the past,” Wassner told The Daily in January. What does that mean? A more personal, hands-on approach, according to Interluxe CEO Melissa Beste, which includes bringing in the business talent, human resources, architecture, and framework to grow the business.
“A.L.C. makes a beautifully designed collection that appeals to the modern, sophisticated woman,” said Beste. “The brand has great momentum, and we are extremely excited to be partnering with Andrea Lieberman. She is an extraordinary talent and an emerging leader in American womenswear.” A.L.C. was founded in 2009 by Lieberman, a New York City-based designer and Parsons graduate, who cut her teeth working for Italian fashion designers like Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo and Romeo Gigli. She later worked as a stylist working on costumes and wardrobes for everyone from Gwen Stefani to Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson, before founding her eponymous ready-to-wear and accessories label. “We are thrilled to be partnering with InterLuxe,” said Lieberman. “The InterLuxe and Lee Equity teams have a unique combined strength. Their industry knowledge, experience, and relationships make them the right strategic partner. Most importantly, they share a common vision for the future success of A.L.C. and are fully committed to the exciting journey that lies ahead.”
