UGG for Men and Phillip Lim are teaming up for a limited edition Fall ’17 capsule collection of four styles. Lim took creative lead on the project, applying the modern minimalistic aesthetic of 3.1 Phillip Lim to the casual coziness of UGG. Styles include the Classic High, Classic Short, Outdoor High, and Outdoor Short boots, and come in plaid, bright colors, and with hardware zipper detailing.
“As a designer, I am constantly interested in exploring unexpected elements to create new aesthetic propositions,” Lim said in a statement. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with UGG is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire a laid back sense of cool. The approach stemmed from my California roots and memories of wearing UGG – a pure expression of unexpected fun and casual elegance.”
UGG’s take on the designer partnership? “Phillip Lim brings a fresh perspective to our men’s line, reimagining our iconic styles in a new way,” said Andrea O’Donnell, UGG brand president. “This collection reflects his thoughtful craftsmanship in artful stitching and precise detail. The Cali-born brand has been making efforts to reimagine its place in the fashion market, including dropping “Australia” from its name and partnering with a variety of designers and style influencers, including Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Alexa Chung, and even fellow footwear brand Teva. Styles from UGG x 3.1 Phillip Lim will be available at 3.1PhillipLim.com, UGG.com, and at select retail stores this fall, and prices begin at $250.
